This lens has a 5 inch (126mm) field of view at a viewing distance of 5 inches with a magnification of approximately 2 to 3X. The glass surface is approximately 37mm in diameter, the depth is 15mm, the metal collar around the lens is 49x63mm. This lens was used for aerial photo and map evaluation requiring high resolution optics. Build a hood or stand for it and this lens will make a superb medium or large format magnifier, view camera ground glass loupe or light box viewing loupe.
