Although it is unmarked, I believe that it dates from 1946 and was sold under the brand name "THE LEICA TOKYO" (possibly manufactured by Murakami Camera Works). It is engraved "open,close" and not the usual German "auf/zu". It works with the III series Leicas. Note, this is a very rare  item and is of very high quality construction.
