The new Takahashi FSQ telescope makes some significant improvements over its predecessor. The new FSQ telescope has significantly longer backfocus at 178mm to accommodate most CCD systems. Many CCD imagers have additional equipment in the light path such as filter wheels, adaptive optics, temperature control focusers and other accessories that take up precious focus travel. The new version has additional backfocus to accommodate most CCD equipment and even allows the use of binoviewers! User Reviews Review Date: 10/5/2008 Reviewed By: Luis Gutierrez FSQ 106 ED A very compact and heavy scope,very very sharp, contrastone step down to the TSA 102, APO performance........... almost no color can be seen at 189 X with a 2.8 mm TAK LE on jupiter. First rate optomecanical,Strehl may be above 90. The best multipurpose telescope,Nagler-petzval 101 may be has better color correction but is not airline carry on portable. It has a very large image circle, allowing for flat field imaging with large ccd cameras. It also performs quite well for visual use. It is not the best rated visual instrument, but it is designed for optimum use for imaging, so this is understandable. Yet I was still quite pleased with the views through the eyepiece, so this certainly is a multi-application instrument. Place a Bid!
