Due to both its rarity and collectability, the Zeiss made, Leica modified 8/15mm Hologon set can be regarded as one of the most desirable Leica collectible optics today. The Optics are Pristine: clean, clear and scratch free. The Focus is smooth and well dampened. The Lens comes in its original box with with a 15mm Optical Viewfinder with bubble level intact, a Carl Zeiss Graduated Center Filter (Verlauffilter) for Leica-M Hologon 4x, and both lens caps. The Finder has a touch of haze on the eyepiece, but it is otherwise clean, clear and bright, Cosmetics are Excellent or better and the glass is clean and scratch free. This Lens is Functionally perfect and clean. Cosmetics for the Lens are Excellent+/Glass is MINT. Note: Very few units of these individual lenses were produced and sold by Leitz. Originally, it was only available as a set with the Hologon Camera. In comparion, the Leica M-bayonet version has some differences in appearance from the original fixed Hologon 8/15 version, as used on the HOLOGON ultrawide camera. One of the most noticeable features is the red color-coded distance scale (feet). The metric distance scales are provided at the opposite end. However, the aperture is still fixed 1:8. An individual Optical Viewfinder with Bubble level was also supplied as a standard accessory.
