This telescope has seen almost no use. It is in near new condition. No scratches or marks. The optics are flawless. The case is also near perfect. The pictures really don't do this Questar justice. The telescope serial number is 8-DP-10834-BB. This is my personal telescope. I received it as a gift several years ago. At the time I thought I would get into astronomy. After trying observing a couple of times I found I just did not have that great an interest. So this Questar has been in the closet for years unused just gathering dust. Time to pass it on to someone else who will use it more.This is a duplex model. It can be removed from the Questar astronomical mount and put on a normal tripod as a field spotting scope. There is a picture of the Questar on a photographic camera tripod. (The camera tripod is not for sale.) This Questar has Broad Band coatings. The Questar astronomical mount includes the PowerGlide II synchronous electric drive. This is the battery operated model that works off a standard 9 volt alkaline battery in the PowerGlide II controller. On Dec-05-08 at 08:37:07 PST, seller added the following information:Several of you have sent me questions about the age of this scope and service history. I called Questar yesterday. They told me the manufacture date of this Questar is 10/28/1998. The cost of a standard service (clean and align optics) is $425. This scope has never been back to the factory. The scope has been stored in a dry closet the entire time I have had it. The few times I observed were on warm dry evenings and there was no condensation on the scope.
