Description
This is the PhotoTherm SK-4 Automatic Film Processor. It is the professional photographer's first choice for automated film processing as it will process black and white film at 75 degrees and then process c-41 color negative film or E-6 color slide film at 100 degrees. It is still in production by Phototherm and customer service and extra parts are available at phototherm.com. This unit works perfectly and cost $6,000 when new. It comes with 3 film drums and eight Patterson adjustable film reels, film dryer, technical manual, operating instructions and a set-up VHS tape and all the chemical containers shown in the photo. It can be used as a stand-alone unit or it can be hooked into home plumbing and drain system (uses icemaker kit for connecting to plumbing- can be purchased at home depot for about $5). This is a perfect choice for a High School or College photography department, newspaper or magazine or high volume film photographers. It will process as few a 1 roll of film or as many as 4 rolls at once. The table is NOT included in this auction and the unit will be shipped in two or three boxes by UPS. PhotoTherm Description: The SK-4 automatic processor accurately tempers each solution, one at a time. This design breakthrough allows B/W processing at 75degrees farenheit and them immediately afterwards slide or color negative processing at 100 degrees. Tempered water is NOT needed. long warm-ups are NOT required. All the solution bottles are constantly connected. The operator just selects the process. The unit pumps the proper chemical from any of the 18 reservior containers, quickly heats the small volume needed to the correct temperature and starts processing. As it processes one solution it prepares the next solution. At the end of the process cycle it automatically flushes itself clean, preparing itself for the next process. The SK-4 is compact (26" wide by 14 " high by 16 " deep). The process drum is removeable for loading in a dark box or bag (eliminating the need for a darkroom). The SK-4 can process 4 rolls of 35mm, 2 rolls of 120/220, 4 sheets of 4x5, or 9 disc films at one time. Two chemicals can be automatically saved from each process for silver recovery or reuse. Fresh developer is used for quality. The standard processes are pre-programmed, but the developer time can be easily changed when desired. The SK-4 protects the film from possible operator errors. It has an interactive computerized display that prompts and informs the operator what it is doing. Possible operator errors are also minimized because chemical lines do not have to be switched nor must volumes of solutions be measured.
